Life in Solids

I have more solid color clothing than anything! I could probably count my patterned shirts in one hand. While patterns are fun to play with and can give an outfit life, I always find myself gravitating to solid colors in my closet. When I go shopping I will pick up a patterned shirt, and the more that i look at it the less I like it. While i like how patterns look on other people i can't seem to get myself to wear patterns. I feel like you can wear a solid color year after year, while patterns have a smaller life span.

So in order to bring life to my wardrobe, I look for blouses/shirts that have something that catches the eye. For example the shirt i am wearing here has a deep v crisscross detailing and has bell sleeves. Another way to add life to an outfit is through shoes and accessories. I stopped wearing necklaces and bracelets about a year ago, not quite sure why. Which is another reason why I look for shirts that already have detailing and don't need a necklace.

I've never been obsessed with shoes or handbags but i have noticed that they are important to an outfit. Since the shoes were a different color than my pants and blouse, I decided to go with a gray studded bag that brought out the silver studs in the shoes. The studs in the bag simply added texture to the entire outfit.
