Fall is that you? While fall weather in New Jersey may seem like it comes and goes it’s good to be prepared. Lately you don’t know what to expect with this weather but if you layer you are always able to adjust. Layering is not only for those cold weather days but there are a couple of other benefits from layering.

1) Look chic

a. When you layer well, some of the best outfits come from it because you are playing with different colors, fabrics, textures, lengths and patterns.

2) You are dressed for both warm and cold days a. One of the best things about layering is that you can always play around with what you are wearing in case it gets too warm. You can take off the scarf, the jacket and stay in a light sweater and shirt. It varies with what you wear. For me in this case I could take my denim shirt off and scarf off or I could take my black shirt off and stay with the denim shirt depending on the occasion and where I am going.

3) From the layering pieces you have chosen you can make different outfits! a. You can look like you are wearing a totally different outfit just by changing how you wear things and still get compliments every time!

b. You can use your layers to dress up and dress down. (in my case for these pictures I dressed down) c. You don’t have to stress thinking about what else you can wear, look back at how you have layered your outfits and you can take an outfit from there.

I chose to start off this outfit with suede leggings in a camel color and pair it with a black fun long sleeve blouse (the blouse is perfect for those fall days that aren't too warm or too cold). Since the black top is off the shoulder I decided to add a thin scarf that matched the colors I was wearing instead of a necklace. Lastly in the first picture I'm wearing booties then decided to change to the high knee boots because you can never go wrong with both.

For those colder days you can throw on a denim shirt and i decided to roll up the sleep so you can see the fun sleeve of the black blouse and left it unbuttoned. Since I added an extra layer I decided to tie the scarf around my boot and make it a fun way to re-wear a thin scarf. To top it off you can simply wear a black leather jacket.

Finally, if you don't feel like wearing the blouse because it might me too dressy or its a little chilly and just want to wear a denim shirt you can! I felt like the outfit might look to simple since I was wearing solid colors throughout so i moved the scarf up and wrap it around my wrist to add a little more flare. You can play around with accessories to best fit your outfits.
